Scraplift Sunday!!

Hey all!  I was pretty happy to get some scrappy time this weekend and got to work on todays Scraplift Sunday at PIFF based on this FANTASTIC layout by Jennifer McMurtrey!!!  Love the contrast, the splatters, the picture. lol  It was a fun layout to lift, definately.

I dove into some new Pinkfresh Studio Life Noted goodies I just received on Friday, the 3x4 cards are awesome, I had a hard time choosing which one would suit this layout/picture the best.  It's a great line for documenting times in your life that mean a lot to you, which is what scrapping is all about.

This photo means a lot, because it signifies a HUGE moment in my life.  I am almost 40 years old, and JUST got engaged in January.  I spent many years fighting in a relationship that wasn't healthy, and in the end I made the choice for it to be me and my 3 kiddos for a few years by ourselves.  We were doing great, and then this man came along and CHOSE to be with us.  All of us.  And we even added one more rugrat to the mix.  He takes care of me/us like nobody has before, and it's an amazing feeling.  So that night in Vegas on top of the Eiffel Tower, when he asked me to marry him... was definately one of the best nights of my life.

That's what it's all about.

If you want to take a peek at the Paper Issues store and see something that strikes your fancy, remember you can get 20% off by using the code 'Chelsea'!!!

Shouting from the rooftop!

I am so excited!!!!  I'm honored to be sharing that I have been asked to join the Paper Issues Creative Team for a 4 month term.  This is a GREAT group of women, very talented and inspiring, and so much fun to chat with.  I'm sure the time will fly by, but I'm determined to make the most of it.

Cassie runs a great store right HERE and her attention to each and every package she mails out (at record pace, I might add) leaves nothing to improve upon.  You'll come to love houndstooth and a red ribbon whether you want to or not.

THANK YOU to the Paper Issues gals for including me in this run, I'm very much looking forward to the challenge, and to helping inspire the members of Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}.  If you haven't found them on FB, click the link and sign up.  You won't regret it!

And you can also shop the PI store at any time with my personal discount code!  How cool is that?
(an fyi for my Canadian friends, this IS a US based store, which means US prices)

Feeling like Spring

It is finally feeling like spring out there!  Up to 16 degrees Celcius today (60 Fahrenheit for my south of the border friends...) and I'm loving it!  Even if I'm stuck up in an office most of the day, it was nice to open up my windows at work and smell some fresh air without freezing me arse off.

This layout was done with some Maggie Holmes Bloom collection, very soft and pretty....  Definately most suited for your girly layouts!!

And it was a great surprise to have it in the featured layouts of the day in the Scrapbook.com newsletter in my email inbox this morning!  Definately started my week off with a smile.

Relaxing Scraplift Sunday

Well, it was a nice and relaxing weekend in my house.  I had a few kids gone for one night, and my oldest worked all weekend.  I made time for scrapping in between the cleaning and sure enjoyed having the windows wide open again.  I'll head back to work tomorrow feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.  It's a wonder what 2 mornings of sleeping in until 8am can do.

Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues today inspired me so much, it was a great layout that I fell in love with the minute I saw it.  A great way to use up little odds and ends for wood veneers, embellies, etc.

Tegan Skwiat is the original scrapper, creating this gorgeous layout... bright, summery, just amazing.  Jumps right out at you!!!

Mine, well, it didn't turn out as I had envisioned.  I used the Making Waves collection from Fancy Pants which is a great collection to use for boy layouts!!  I didn't have as many wood veneers as I would have liked that went well with the layout, so I added in some other things to spruce it up too.

It was great to sit at the table, the kids even gave me an hour UNINTERRUPTED.  Yup.

Til next time!

Scraplift Sunday got me scrappin!

I got a little scrappy on the weekend, thanks to the Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group.  The original layout was done by Kelly Feldman, which is right here in all it's glory... love the look of the hanging photos and cards!!!

I pulled out some pictures that I've been wanting to scrap and cut them down so they'd fit going across a bit better without taking up the entire space.  Fussy cutting out some owls and slapping on some thickers finished this off perfectly!  The fun colors of the papers definately helped my darker photos brighten up a little bit....  Here's my take on it!

I'm doing pretty good at using up some papers that are in my stash before buying new stuff the last little bit.  All of my papers fit into one container which is super awesome, I know where everything is and never feel like I have too much.  :)  If you ask my man, however, I'm sure he'll have a different opinion on that one.

Have yourselves a wonderful day!!!!
